Beth Thornton – Owner and Principal Tutor

Beth has been working in education as a tutor and certified teacher for almost a decade. She has had specialized training in SAT test preparation and has an impressive record with TAKS tutoring and preparation in English and middle school math.

Upon earning her MA in education with a concentration in English, Beth Thornton taught AP English at New York City’s prestigious Jaqueline Kennedy Onassis High School.

After moving to Austin, she accepted a job as the Curriculum Developer for the Fast Company notable non-profit Citizen Schools. She helped them to establish their first Austin campus by creating an engaging curriculum, raising funds for program materials through grant writing, and teaching a math apprenticeship. Providing quality education to students through Tutoring Austin is now her full-time pursuit.

Staff

Tutoring Austin also works with students who need help in the maths and sciences. Only college graduates who have passed background and reference checks tutor for us. All tutors submit their college transcripts for review before being hired to ensure that their academics match their instructional talents.
